Key Highlights from Guest Feedback

Reviews reveal a well-located hotel praised for its breakfast and attentive staff, with some practical considerations to keep in mind.

Guests often praise

  • Convenient location near major rail hubs like St. Pancras International, King's Cross, and Euston stations.
  • Friendly, attentive, and helpful staff who enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Varied breakfast including a full English option, often described as excellent and satisfying.
  • Clean rooms and bathrooms, contributing to comfortable short stays.
  • Easy access to popular attractions and a safe route from the station.

Worth knowing

  • Rooms tend to be small, with limited free space especially in triple rooms.
  • The building is older with no elevator; stairs can be narrow and challenging for those with heavy luggage.
  • Wi-Fi reception can be slow and patchy, particularly on lower floors.
  • No air conditioning, parking, fitness center, or airport shuttle is available on site.
  • Some bathrooms may feel cramped, depending on the room location.

Best for

  • Visitors prioritizing a central London base with easy access to major rail and tube stations.
  • Travelers looking for affordable accommodation with a solid breakfast included.
  • Guests seeking proximity to cultural highlights like the British Library and British Museum.
  • Solo travelers and families comfortable with older buildings and compact rooms.
  • Short stays where a clean and convenient location outweighs spacious room needs.

About this property

Welcome to George Hotel

Situated in a busy area near major transport hubs including St. Pancras International, George Hotel offers simple accommodation within a Victorian townhouse. The property provides free Wi-Fi and a cooked English breakfast, which is frequently praised in guest reviews for its variety and quality. Rooms are described as small and basic, fitting for travelers primarily seeking a place to rest during busy days exploring the city.

The hotel does not offer air conditioning, parking, a pool, or a fitness center, and it is not pet-friendly. However, it is smoke-free and kid-friendly, with a restaurant available on site. Check-in begins at 14:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Some guests have noted that the building’s older style means no elevator access and narrow staircases, which may be a consideration for those with heavy luggage or mobility needs.

Guests will appreciate the excellent location with easy walking access to attractions such as The British Museum, The National Gallery, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. The proximity to several mainline railway stations also makes it convenient for visitors using public transport. Nearby airport travel times range from about an hour to just over an hour by car or transit from Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted airports.

Reviews reflect a mix of perspectives: while some found rooms smaller than expected and Wi-Fi signals weak on lower floors, many highlighted the friendly and attentive staff as well as the overall cleanliness. The hotel tends to suit travelers who prioritize location and value a straightforward, budget-conscious stay in Central London without extensive on-site amenities.

The room was quite small, even smaller than expected, but it wasn't that much of a problem since we were there just to sleep and recover from tough days of sightseeing. The staff was nice, room service worked flawlessly. And we loved the continental and full english breakfast as well! Consider booking directly on the website of the hotel to get the breakfast for free. Only thing that bugged us was the bathroom situation. Since we were way up on 3rd floor the shower hat no water pressure. Also the shower curtain ended like ten inches above the floor. After showering the whole bathroom floor was wet.

Rates are little bit high and triple room has not much free space. But everything is very clean and good. The breakfast is fabulous. Walking distance for main three railway stations. Good place to stay.

Good location and a short walk from both Euston and King's Cross. Room was clean and staff were friendly. Slow wifi unfortunately and poor signal in lower floors.

We spent three very quiet nights in this nice hotel conveniently close to St Pancras International and to Russell Square tube and bus stations (as well as those at Euston and King's Cross). The room, the beds and the shower room were very clean. The British breakfast was excellent, with delicious lean bacon, scrambled or fried eggs, sausages, mushrooms, hashbrowns, tomatoes and baked beans, plus cheese and ham. The staff was warm and attentionate, especially Dorka. We will definitely stay again there.

It was perfect. Access to LGW is great, and it's close to the nearest station. The nearest station is a famous one, and beyond that, you can walk to all the major tourist spots no matter where you want to go. The route from the station to the hotel is basically along a main street, so it's relatively safe even for a woman traveling alone. The staff are kind, and I absolutely love it. I'll book the same hotel again when I come back to London. thank you 4 the great time, yuka

If you are choosing this hotel, it's because you've seen its location on the map and you want to stay in Central London. Those were our criteria (family of 3) and the hotel did not disappoint. There are a few things you should be aware of in advance. 1. This is an old building that has been converted into a nice hotel. There obviously is no elevator and the stairwells are relatively narrow. Lugging heavy bags up the stairs can be work. If this is going to bother you, this is not the hotel for you. 2. We had a nice room on the top floor. I can imagine that this floor can get warm in the middle of summer (I think the hotel may provide table fans). So if you are someone who needs air conditioning, this is not the hotel for you. With that said, if you want a lovely, no nonsense experience in a great London location, I would highly recommend George Hotel.

The hotel is ideally situated, making it easy to reach nearby attractions and transport links. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and attentive, especially the reception team who went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Communication before my visit was efficient and reassuring, setting a positive tone even before check-in. During my stay, Natalyia provided exceptional assistance, she was courteous, patient, and genuinely eager to help with any questions or arrangements. Her professionalism and friendly attitude truly enhanced my overall experience, making my stay both pleasant and memorable. Highly recommended for visitors seeking comfort and care.

Nice little place for a weekend trip to London. Good breakfast and good location (5-min-walk to King's Cross). A little bitte old but totally okay.
